My 2006 King Ranch was the 4x4 version. My 2011 King Ranch has the FX4 package. It includes Rancho branded shocks and skid plates.

There are actually 3 different versions. You might see 4x4, 4x4 OFF ROAD, or FX4 OFF ROAD on the back of any given Superduty. I have yet to see a believeable explanation on exactly what the differences are between the three, other than the comment about Rancho shocks. I have read numerous comments on Ford Truck Enthusiast web site and the descriptions vary depending on who is commenting, about shocks, skid plates, wheels, springs, etc.
I have had 3 different FX4 OFF ROAD trucks, '04 F250, '07 F350, and the current '12 F350. The '04 and '07 were very similar in handling and ride. But the '12 if much quieter, smoother, more comfortable, and better riding than the others.

C'mon Tom, haven't you been keeping up? Both Nitrogen and synthetic oil are aftermarket addons you can use on ANY truck.

One of these days they'll put nitrogen in the synthetic oil, then you'll never lose oil, either.

We've got the FX4 package on the dually. It does have the Nav as well. You sometimes have to be a little smarter than the Nav system on longer trips. Meaning check the entire route before you depart you can do this by going to the "turn list" menu. I kinda wish It was like the google maps where I can drag and drop my own route onto it. Sometimes we dont want to take interstate, going to the Keys is a HUGE example of this. I also print out our google map of our trip to keep the Nav in check, So if want to deviate from the route we can... then the Nav system will recalculate to the new route. Id rather have the truck with Nav than without.

When DW broke her toes in the middle of the night during our trip to TN, it was SOOOOOOO nice to jump in the truck, hit emergency, hospital, then pick the nearest hospital and we were off. It even provided the phone number so you could call the hospital to make sure they were there. Worth the $$ in my book!

Good dang trucks even if they dont come with nitrogen in the tires.

Actually my 2011 King Ranch has FX4, Nav System and the friendly option. What is the friendly option? It's a sunroof. What makes that friendly? You can open it and stick your hand out and wave at folks as you go down the roads of life.
