Sometimes I hate modern technology...

Lat night about 3:00 A.M. this electronic beeping woke us up, I thought it was my tank monitoring system telling me the Black tank was full...not that, we looked around for the beeping, it beeped, then nothing for 5 minutes. I'm about half deaf, so I thought it was coming from one place, it wasn't. It turned out my throw away phone had a low battery, it was clipped on my jeans belt in the closet.
Sue found it and plugged it into it's battery charger.
I get up early, so I am down here, Sue is still asleep, now the other throw-away phone is beeping, I don't want to take it upstairs where the charger is because it will wake Sue up again, (I don't know where the second charger is) so I stuck the dang thing in the refrigerator... I tried to wrap it up in towels and stuck it under a blanket, still annoying. You can't disable the low battery tone, I can still hear it, but it won't wake up Sue, if it wasn't sprinkling out, I would toss it outside. Grrrr

Ozz, will it still beep if you turn it off? Last resort would be to pull the battery.

Thanks,
It got cold and quit making noise... These phones you can't turn off, and can't remove the batteries.
They are the Walmart 'drug dealers' throw-away ones. We had to buy them in Montana, our Nextel's wouldn't work there.
I love your new picture, Merry Christmas to you two from Sue and I.

Ozz,
I know exactly what you are talking about. We have something somewhere that has an alarm of some type on it that goes off about 10 minutes after 4 or 5 am EVERY day! I have looked and looked and cannot find the darn thing. I've just given up and try to put it out of my mind (which is really easy to do given my level of CRS) and just ignore it. I have not actually heard it beeping for about a week. Of course now that I've brought it back to my memory I'll be hearing it again for a month! Happy Trails, Dennis

In my BR there is the carbon monoxide detector and it has the little green lite that flashes all the time about every 5 mins it bothers me if I see it at night. I put a new battery in it thought it may be low but it still does it so I guess it is suppose to.

I'm with you Bobby, I've even thought of putting a piece of tape over the light. i think the blink is just to let you know it's working, and there is an alarm if C/M gets high. Larry

I'm right there with you all. Wake up in the middle of the night and somethings beeping and it could be anything from the Ipod to the smoke detector. Add to that the stick home being in the sticks and the power being iffy and each time the power blinks the carbon monoxide detecter squawks with a tone designed to wake you from the gas induced coma and I'm ready to go back to taking my chances.
