Wifi being installed at Matagorda TX campground
After months--years--of waiting, wifi is finally arriving at the LCRA Nature Park RV Park at Matagorda, Texas. Some of the south end campsites were able to get internet service yesterday, although there seems to be a problem affecting everyone: email cannot be sent or received. Internet, fine; email,non-existent at this point. Luckily, I can go down the road to a public school and use the wifi there, but it is frustrating to not be able to get it at the campground.
The rest of the south end campsites and some of the north end campsites are supposed to get wifi service in the next few weeks.

I'd like to see crowds of Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) techs crowding the place and working to figure out why the campers here have internet but no email!

Port 25 is probably turned off to prevent mass spamming/relaying.
What service do you use for email? yahoo, google?

Michael, I use Windows Mail. I can go to any wifi hotspot in town and get my email, just not via the new wifi service just installed by the LCRA.
I'm not too good with the techical side of computers, so here's a question for you: What's "Port 25"?

Port 25 is a commonly used one to send email through.
I would ask whomever installed the wifi to open the ports for email.
You said you use Windows Mail. You should be able to log on using your web browser to send and receive email.

I can get and send email via my web browser and my montana.com address, but I can't just open Windows Mail from my desktop and get it. Getting it through the web browser isn't my first choice, becaue it loses the html formatting and is a real pain in the armpit to use.
The Lower Colorado River Authority is having a land auction to sell 25 beachfront lots on July 9th, all via computer bidding, and we've been told that everyone's email will be operational by then. We'll see.
