Converter Info

Been reading a lot of post lately and like always it's been costing me Just purchased a 50amp SurgeGuard and a Awning Lock. Now you all have me interested in adding a IQ Smart Controller to my Converter which leads me to a few questions....
(1) Are all IQ Controllers compatable with Montana Converters?
(2) Having never exposed the Converter or much less found it, (understand it's mounted behind the fuse box..2005 3400RL) what model converter would I have?
(3) Prior Owner added an additional Battery, any special needs I should be looking at.

John, it's like a boat, we just keep throwing money at them.
You must find it, get the model number and contact Iota to see, unless someone with the same model Monte has the info for you.
On the battery, just make sure they are the same size and type, and both are in good shape and topped off with water.

John,

Our 2007 Converter is mounted on the floor behind the furnace return air grille. I can see it through the slots. If you can't see it, it may very well be behind the panel in the bathroom (there is a huge open space for wiring up there above the W/D closet.

BTW, If your converter is above the W/D closet, that would explain the vent in the closet ceiling that was on all the 3400 models we looked at, but was absent on ours.

As Ozz says, you need to look up the manufacturer and model. If it is an Iota, there were the old style with screws, and new style with the phone jack. Here is a link where I got my IQ http://www.solarseller.com/_iota_bat...m#control_plug
