Montana Man, how to you access the things hanging on the side of the organizer (as in the first picture)? Do you have to crawl in to reach it?

Ok, what I should have said was the conductors are rated for 30A as opposed to 50A (60A total versus 100A total). It's still a smaller conductor than the 50A cord which will result in more voltage drop, right? Whether it would ever be enough to make a difference, I don't know. But as was said earlier, connected to 50A breaker, the conductor is now a long fuse.

Let me (us) know how you like it.

No, I don't have to crawl in. It is about half way through the basement. I rarely have to use the extension. I put as much as I could onto bulkheads and those storage bins in the first pic. That leaves floor space on the DS for satellite, tool box, and just plain open space to get at stuff. I hate basements that look like a stop action picture of an explosion.

Well with 240 I get 2 120 amp ,one meaning 60 amps total not the 30 amps as with a the standard 30 amp cord. Yes there can be some voltage drop but after 14 years in do this has not happened very often. And as for the question about breaker, the cord is the weak link and is located out side. As said in checking the EMS, I have never seen 30 amps pull on either leg, but I'm sure it could happen, we don't have a W/D. I just got tired of messing with the Anaconda.

I'm with you now, you were referring to a 30A 4-conducotor cable as opposed to a 30A 3-conductor cable. Definitely agree with the Anaconda part.

I also have the MorRyde reel. the hand crank reel hose a 30 ft 50 amp cord. I keep an additional 20 ft extension in my storage box, "just in case".

For years I have used a milk crate & wound the 50 amp cord inside the crate. I cut a hole in the side & snake the RV connector out the hole. Works great, particularly if you can get a real one (not Wally knockoff).

Hi. Maybe this isn’t the correct way but I leave mine plugged into trailer (50 amp) and criss cross wrap around rear bumper and then bungee strap it down. Stays in place and works for me.

The problem I see is fitting it in the bag on cooler mornings. I went to the reel (Amz) 2 yrs ago and wish I had done it 13 yrs ago when I went on the road. No problem even at single digits

I gave up on the power cord. I just use plastic containers like to ones you buy at WM or Costco. I use 3 that stack neatly in the basement, one for sewer stuff, one for power cord and adapters and one for fresh water stuff. They all have tight lids so not contamination issues. very compact and minimal space. Has worked well so far. I also added a hose real of the side wall and that works well for quick access to a 50 ' hoes. I have see folks use the hose real for the power cord, but a 50 AMP wire might be too much for the real, they are not easy to real up.

I have been considering a reel as well but I dont yet see the space advantage vs blocking part of a door with the reel. Currently we just use the cord and hose bungees for everything that needs to be coiled. They work great.
I which there was a bumper mount and seal storage avaliable to put on the back adjacent to the plug. I may need to make one.

Yes this is a reversible manual cord reel, that I have spoken of. Just turn it around the other direction to change handle sides. The openings for the cord is the same on both side.

I use plastic bins with lids (available at Lowes and Home Depot). I keep my 50 amp cord in there, an extension 50 amp cord, my surge protector, and my 30 amp to 50 amp transition plug. All electrical in one place. In my other plastic bin, I keep my water hoses, filter, water pressure regulator, Y connectors to hook up more than one hose, etc. All water supplies in one container.

Wow! I'm both impressed and feeling like a slacker! Thanks... I think! Where did you find basement organizer?

Thanks to all that have posted, lots of good ideas. Except for Montana Man, who made me realize that my basement looks like crap.

We do the exact same thing. Hubby mounted it into one of the rear side hatch compartments. Bag might be nice to store the extension cord and the pigtail convertor. Our surge protector is mounted inside the camper.
