Trimetric 2025 - my next small step towards solar

The meter & shunt came today, so I just HAD to dive into installing it. Didn't know how much of a contortionist I had to be to get a cable run down to the hidden part of the basement, over the top of the open part and through the forward part to get to the batteries. Had to take the rear panels off the basement wall and then drill a hole to run a fish up to behind the inside control panel. I'm going to mount the meter to the right of the control panel, but not too far as the wall curves on our model. Looks to be about a 20' cable run and I've some old 24 gauge twisted pair that'll work fine. Getting that thing run from the inside panel hole to the forward compartment did me in though. I'll post some more tomorrow with some photos.

Good choice! I wouldn't be without mine. Worth every penny (and it took a lot of them to get one).

Finally finished. The inside part was much easier than the forward basement despite having to fish the cable. Decided to add a piece of plywood for the next steps now as well as leave some extra wire for the next set of batteries. Was really disappointed to find out our dealer supplied batts were totally pathetic - maybe 240 amp hours at best together. That's OK, they won't be there long.

You are correct on the OEM batteries. They are just good enough to keep you going as long as you stay on shore power all the time.
