Better Days :(

NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!

I was strolling through my picture trail to find a pic, and came across this pic of our trip home with our first Montana back in 2003. My old truck too. It brought a warm smile and a tear to me one good eye!..........Then I looked up to the gas prices!!! ahhhhhhh!

Had I have known back then what I know now....that gas would be at $5 a gallon and perhaps climbing in a short 5-years....I really don't think I would have bought an RV and I would have been driving a new Honda Civic in this picture.

Great story Brad, Too bad about the fuel prices. but can't wait to get into our new bus and head south to.... AZ, NM, & maybe Texas.
Heck life is too short and I'm already 3/4's of the way there !!!

p/s I do miss my F350 though....... the little ranger just isn't the same .

Hi John! I'm jealous! I guess in reality it could be a Honda Civic behind a new MH in that picture and I would be getting 30mpg the majority of the time.

That Ranger will be a faithful friend as well as the F350. My Bronco II pushed our old gasser MH to the transmission shop once via the tow bar, and then gave us a ride home 400 miles away.

I too would not have purchased this RV and truck...but now that we have it we are going to use it. We just love our truck and Montana. Just wish we didn't have to pay so much out here on the west cost for fuel.

Da east coast is not any better for fuel prices...running around $4.29 gal Diesel and we too are gonna use the Monty. Got one more trip planned to Fisherman's Memorial Park, RI 10/14 - 10/21 then likely will park for winter.

Karl and Chuck-- Come on out to where the good life is here in Nebraska. Diesel is now $3.85 and looking to go down even more. I'll bet we could even find you two jobs to your liking!

Brad-- can't bring back those prices but can always dream about them.

If you have not been to Fisherman's Point before, you are gong to like the spaces. We took a drive through there when visiting Son in Newport and was impresed. If I ever go back I'll see about spending a week there. Make sure you get over to Newport, and spend the money for the Mansion tour package. Streets are narrow but I did not have any problem with my then F-350. You don't really want to tow through newport, but it can be done as all the 18 wheelers make it through, albeit tight.
