Bathroom door Pivot hinge is loose

Not the roller but the top pivot hinge is loose, trying to avoid removing wood trim strip. What does the pivot hinge look like. Do you think I could drill a hole to line up with screws so I could tighten the close hole up.

The shaft that supports the door from the top has a nut on the top of it that slides in a slot allowing the door to open and close. That nut is loose and needs to be tightened down. Access is near impossible unless you remove the trim above the door.

When I replaced the trim, I removed all the old staples completely and re-installed that top piece with two small wood screws only. At first I thought the screws were too short and wouldn't hold, but that was 2 years and thousands of miles ago. It hasn't fallen off (yet). I figure, if I ever have to adjust it again, access will be much, much easier the next time.

We don't have a pivot point door, but the search function came up with this thread with a lot of useful info

Pivot Door was one of the first things I changed on our rig when it was new. Glad I did every time I go into the bathroom.

We have a 2019 3791RD and our pivot is accessible from the bathroom side. Our thread was stripped so we reversed the bolt so it fed from the top down and put a threaded nut on the bottom. Easiest fix ever.

The Pivot Door has generated lots of discussion. The Thread that Lee-CI pointed out is the best information you will find.

pivot door

My wife and I really ...really dislike our pivot door.
About ready to replace it with a curtain rod and a heavy curtain.

Unless someone has a better solution. A pocket door would have made total sense in that application

Have you installed the newer hardware available from Morryde? I have been very happy with ours since installing the new hardware.

Scott,

My post was for Jeff but here is some info. Newer units have the updated hardware.

The door is made by Morryde.
They have and "improved" replacement part.
SP205-517 (roller space plate)
UO136-2074 (sliding door roller)
