Victron multiplus 2

I wanted to thank everyone for there help. I have another question. I was thinking about updated to a victron Multiplus 2. Im going to buy two 400 amp hour LItime batteries. I can’t afford other battery types. Should I go 12V or 24v for the batteries and the Multiplus? Thank you for your time.

With a 24V system you can save money on wire sizes on the DC side. This would be offset somewhat by the requirement of the mandated need for a 24V to 12V converter (i.e. transformer unit) to facilitate 12V house power. Check out the Explorist Life YouTube channel for detailed knowledge and explanation on the 24V vice 12V systems. There is a lot to consider when designing a system. It CAN be done though with careful planning. I've heard good reports on the LiTime batteries other than lack of cold weather protection which can be overcome with either battery warmers or installing in a heated compartment. Good luck and let us know how you come out.

Another thought is that both the Multiplus II and MPPT controller(s) will need to be programmed to the specific parameters of the LiFePo4 batteries you purchase.

Im leaning towards 24v. Thank you for your response. It definitely helps my decision making.

The only reason not to go 24v is because you are going 48v. Providing 12vdc for loads can easily be done using a Victron Orion.

PNW Fireguy might be trying to tell you something with his 48V comment. If you look at his signature you can see he is heavy into solar and Lithium batteries.

I have been doing my homework in regards. I just came believe it is so simple to go 24v without any problems
