With the mild winter we've been having around Hamilton, Ontario the itch to get going has been strong. Old man winter reminded us today that we're still a few weeks away from RVing. We got a 2" snow reminder today.

Glenda and I winter the Monty at home so every now and then we get to go sit in it and dream until we can actually take it on the road.

Hmmmmmm...that sounds vaguely familiar.

It is strange, but people used to go to Florida to escape the snow, but now Georgia also appears to do almost just as well, unless you live in the mountains in the extreme northern part of the state.

We probably won't go anywhere until June. Looking forward to getting Monty out. Then we will go to Colorado Springs July 4th as usual.
Planning to go to AZ this fall. Hopefully we will stay some of the winter there.

What a beautiful day here in Hamilton, Ont. The sun was out and had a fair amount of heat in it. Glenda and I took a drive to our campsite at Fifty Point Conservation area and sat on the picnic table in the sun for a while. Soon we can take Monty with us.

Good neighbors do not bother me, Dave!

Well, we did it! Took the Montana out for the weekend, and it was a beautiful one—not a cloud in the sky Friday, Saturday, or Sunday—which was almost too good to believe as every other weekend in 2006 except one had rained. A little breeze coming off Lake Russell kept a slight chill, but the temperature was around 60 each day. That will tide me over until three weeks from now when I head out for ten days over spring break!

Great, JD... I''ll see if I can find some...

I believe this week will be our transitional week here in Mich (we still will get snow storms in April and May, though). I believe the 60's will make it to the central part of the state by the weekend. It was 3 degrees this morning, and like Bear Hunter said, we still have 3 to 4 ft of snow on the level, but I believe Spring is springing (oh wow, is that corny?). Spring fever will REALLY hit us hard this year as we prepare to make plans for spending time in our new 3400RL.

Well it is really nice that all of you are thinking about camping and when you can do some...Meanwhile there is a huge empty spot along side the house that will not be filled with our new 3400Rl till at least the first week of May.Our local camping groups first campout is April 21,22 and 23 and we don't have a camper

At least you have your's on the way, Rich. I'll feel a lot better when ours is in the "Being Manufactured" mode, like your's is now.

Rich and Dave, I feel for both of you, being that you do not have your new units. When they arrive, though, I have a feeling that both of you will be the proudest people on MOC for sooooome time!

Weather forecast here indicates we will be moving into the 70s by the end of the week. I hope that this is a trend that continues!

Thanks for your encouragement, Dave and JD. I think that warming trend will be for most of the country. We may not be neighbors as soon as we though, JD.

Hi, Brad ...

We will likely be camping at Fifty Point sometime this summer. Have driven through but have yet to camp there. Looks like a nice place ... especially the Lake Ontario beach on a hot summer afternoon! Any advice on the best areas to reserve a site??

Bill

Dave, if the north ever becomes too much for you, there is ample room in this neck of the woods! Of course, full timing might solve that problem as well.

Thanks, JD. I appreciate the invite. Actually, our first planned stop next Sept is Cheryl's sister in Asheville, NC. I looked up Statham, and Mapquest says it's only 170 miles away. That's close enough for us to visit.

Sounds good, Dave!

Actually Actually, the Asheville area has many good memories for me from growing up. I spent many of my summers camping in the Pisgah National Forest just outside of Brevard. I even have a friend who was from Hendersonville before coming down here to teach. She is now back there. Interestingly enough, the poet Carl Sandburg bought her grandparents’ house, which is now a national monument.
Yep, many good memories from that area!

Actually Cheryl's sister and her husband live in Arden, so actually that's even closer yet (10 miles S of Asheville). Are there any good CGs in that area, JD?

It has been at least five or six years since I was up that way. We used to stay in the Pisgah National Forest, but I have found that full hookups are important to people here, so that might not be a viable option. There used to be a RV resort between Hendersonville and Brevard called Little River, but I do not know if it is still there.
