Good Sam Emergency Service
Do any of you use Good Sam Emergency Service. If so do you like it and which one do you use, Standard or Platinum.

Wouldn't leave home without it, in fact, one time could NOT leave home without it. They came towed us out of our own back yard we sank into.
Sorry, not sure bout the Standard or Platinum.

We had Camping World ERS which is the sister to Good Sam ERS. It was good, worked well, provided great service. Have no doubt that Good Sam ERS will work as well. We did change this year to Coach-Net ERS primarily because it's endorsed by Escapees of which we are lifetime members.

We have Good Sams ERS and it has worked for us. When we had the blow on our way to Goshen in 08 we called. The first thing we were asked if we were safe and no injuries. They gave an estimate when assistance would arrived and called back at the elapsed time to check if we were being helped. Just as Carol not sure about standard or Platinum. Just paid for a basic plan I quess.

We switched from AAA to Good Sam ERS a couple of years ago. Had to use Good Sam last December and was very pleased with the service.

PS, I am not sure which one it was but they came from Burney Ca to Mt Lassen and up a snow covered dirt road about 7 miles to unlock my truck with no questions asked. It had to be at least 30 to 40 miles. I thought it was great service.

I'm thinking of switching from my AAA RV-plus to Good Sam's. Service appears, from what I read here to be just as good or better and is much less expensive.

We have had Good Sam ERS for years and they have always been very good to and for us, everything from flat tires on personal vehicles to lockouts and a couple of months ago we blew our turbo hose climbing a 6% mtn north of Phoenix. Good Sam sent truck and got us a campground nearby. Truck towed our TV and Montana to the cg and, when we unhooked the rig from the TV, took the truck to a repair facility. Not sure which one but it is the basic and, like above, would not leave home without it.

Good Sam ERS has rescued us twice, once a minor situation but last year our transmission on my Dodge failed (ever heard of that??)they picked us up on the side of the road, towed us about 50 miles and made sure we had a place stay (in our case it was a campground since the Monty was OK)and after repairs were made they paid us reimbursements for food and lodging. Through it all they were attentive to our needs and safety. Wow!!!worth every penny.

We have the standard plan. So far it has worked great for us. Hate all the junk mail that comes along with Good Sam though.

Ditto on the junk mail! I was thinking if the Mountaineer had a wood burning stove, we could stay warm in the winter with all that junk. We let our GS ERS expire. Switching to Progressive insurance, and they have a road service available. Had the DIL check it out, so we'll see how it works. She says they will dispatch just like GS does. I was concerned about the financial stability of Affinity.

Like slickwillie, we have Progressive. They got us a tire and tire change last year when our Carlisle's blew, pretty fast all things considered. Hopefully I'll never need them again, but.......

We have the GS Platinum plan for the "extras" it has. Such as,it covers EVERY trailer you own, with the exception of a utility trailer, and EVERY vehicle as well. Plus any borrowed, or rented ones too. They'll even haul/tow our 1930 Model A, if need be. The Platinum was only a few dollars more.

We had Good Sams ERS for 10 years with our motor home and never used it until last year when we had to use it two days in a row. Each time GS responded
and took care of the problems. Both times the people that responded were great..you couldn't ask for nicer men. They were polite, worked hard and had us
on our way in no time. Last year we sold the RV and bought a 2010 Montana 3455SA and we still have the Good Sams ERS and as the others have said "I wouldn't
leave home without it". Something else to think about - it also covers your cars besides your tow vehicle.

I think you made a good choice!
We’ve had G/S for a few years now. We have the standard policy. I’m glad they were there when we needed them. We have used them on several occasions and if I only knew what the cost was at the time it would probably surprise me when all added up. I would guess that we’re ahead on that but they have treated us great. Wouldn’t bother me if I never used them again but I wouldn’t want to be without it.

We have GS ERS Platinum only because we are not full-timers. If full timing we would only need the standard coverage. For those that don't have a RV type of roadside insurance (AAA or others) make sure to tell the operator when you call what your rig consist of. Some that do not specialize in RVs do not have the ability to handle our large rigs.
