2017 F350 Owners 3:55 or 4:10's... who owns them.
I currently have a 2017 F250 6.7L and it was fine until I traded for the 3950BR and now I have exceeded my 10,000 GVWR. Truck physically handles the camper fine but I am legally liable if in an accident or asked to cross scales. And I figure on long trips the F350 DRW will be more stable although I have not felt under-trucked.
Anyway, I am looking at 2017 F350 DRW and it has options of 3:55 or 4:10 gears. I don't currently have issues with my 3:55 gears in the F250 but the only F350's I am finding have opted for the 4:10's except a few that are not optioned like I want.
Who has the 4:10's in the 2017 F350, you like it, what kind of MPG loaded and unloaded?
Unloaded with my 3:55's I get 20mpg around 60mph, 18.5mpg at 70, 17mpg @ 75mph.
Loaded... around 10-12 depending on conditions, no long trips to really assess it yet.

Love mine! 2017 F350 DRW FX4 CC 6.7L PSD with 4.10 rear end. It gets between 9.0 and 10.5 mpg towing our 2017 3811ms (2800 hitch weight and 15,000 lbs loaded); but I never two at speeds above 65 mph (and that's on real smooth highways). Empty it gets about 12.8 - 17.5 mpg depending on driving conditions. Driven 5500 miles with 1200 miles towing and have only had to add 2.5 gallons to date and am at 1/4 tank of DEF right now. Dually is much more stable; especially when there is a cross wind! Hope this helped?

Has Ford dropped the 3.73 gears?? Our Travel Friends have a '15 6.7 Dually and have 3.73 gears same as our GM. We towing similar weight and traveling together we both use almost the same exact amout of fuel.

Appears the 3:73 were dropped. 3:55 or 4:10 is only options F350

I would go with the 4.10. The 3.73s in mine are good enough, but when towing around 16K, you want all the gear you can get. Especially anywhere the land is not flat.

I have the 373's in my ram and they work great towing my 16,200 pound trailer in the Smokies,O'zarks and Rockies. If Ford doesn't have the 373's as an option then i would go with the 410's. It's better to have more than needed than less.

Well, pulled the trigger today on a 2017 F350 King Ranch Dually fully loaded with 4:10's. If I ever get my new camper out of the shop (been there since July 3rd), I'll tell you my experience going from 2017 F250 with 3:55 and the new Dually and 4:10's. I should take possession this Thursday.

I think the 3.73 is only available with the 6.2 gasser.
I am also trying to decide if it is 4.10 time or 3.55 when I get my new truck. Really wish they would option the 3.73 with the diesel.

If I was going to buy a dually today I would definitely get the 4:10 axle to maximize towing capacity.
