Inflation pressure for G614

I just installed a set of G614's on my 2014 3850FL. I am trying to determine the proper inflation pressure for these tires. I was wondering if anyone currently running these tires could give me some advise.

I'm on my third set between two Montana's. It will say on the tire that the cold inflation pressure is 110lbs. I run mine between 100 and 110psi, never had a problem. Do you have high pressure rims? Also many people use metal valve stems on these tires too.

We run ours at 108# so as not to over inflate, but be basically fully inflated.

We have the exact same rig and run the 614's at 105 psi.

As you increase the pressure you increase the carrying capacity of the tire. I can't think of any reason to go with much less than max pressure.

When I fill ours I fill between 105 to 108 on the gauge and then check with the Pressure Pro TPMS to ensure that it reads at least 105.

Good recommendations above if you don't want to work so hard, but if you want to know for sure, get your rig weighed at each wheel, then find the inflation table for the tires and match the recommended psi for the load. You'll probably find we all tend to overinflate, but we do this because then the tire can handle more load than not and with a trailer you never want to risk being underinflated.

Since I don't use G614s, I must be more careful with my Maxxis STs. I always use 80 psi which allows fo 3460 lbs on each wheel, even though the actual weight at each wheel is only about 2700 lbs. (yup, I went to the scales to verify my configuration). But that was about 6 or 7 years ago. I really should reweigh since it's been so long.

Thanks for the info. I do have 110 psi rims and based upon the feedback from other posts I did install the hi pressure all metal stems. I checked the load range and was probably going to run around 100 to 105 which I know is more weight capacity then needed but I bought these tires for piece of mind. Again thanks for all the feedback.

We have always run our g614 tires on our 13 3402 big sky at 110psi.

We have a 2015 310RET. Had the rig weighed, fully loaded, at each wheel. Ran the 614s at 100psi cold. Keep in mind the ambient temperature has a lot to do with the pressure. Had the tires filled when the temperature was in the high 30s. On our trip to Fl in Jan. it was -1F one morning and the tires were in the mid 80 psi when cold. Once on the road, pressure went up into the 90s. Once the warm weather arrived and we headed back pressure went to low 100s. Tires were one thing we didn't have a problem with.

I've had G614s on my last three campers and ordered them this time on the Montana. I've always ran them at 110 psi to avoid any problems. I love these tires.

1. make sure your rims can handle 110 psi and then do 110 psi, or at least near that psi. 2. follow number 1.

OK, so far this is somewhat confusing. A car tire says max pressure on the side wall, and then on the door jamb, it says a much lower number is recommended. So does the G614 have a max pressure number on the side? Also, if we have the 110 PSI rims, why is everyone running their tires at 110 psi? In other words what is the max pressure for those rims? Plus, since we live at 6,800 feet, I see a 3 lb. drop in inflation pressure on car tires that I run at 36 psi, when I go to the flat lands. So how much drop will there be in a tire inflated to 110 psi? How do you get weight readings on each axle? Will those truck scales do an accurate reading with only one axle on the edge of the scale? Sorry for all of the questions at one time, but I have been thinking about this when seeing your posts, and I did just order a Montana 3820FK which will be here in a couple of months, so I want to be prepared. People run tires at max pressure because that is where there is less heat build up and a tire any tire has its max carrying capacity. Basicly there is no reason to run trailer tires at any thing other than max pressure. This is cold pressure like first thing in the morning. Pressure will go up as the tire gets hot and in your case decrease as you loose elevation which is normal. Don't worry about it.
