zerk fitting size
Does anyone know the size of the grease fittings on the dexter wet bolt shackles? I'm told its probably 3/8. Is that correct? I have one missing. Thanks, Ray

Why not remove one and take it to your local auto parts store? While you are at it an angled one may make it easier to grease

1/8 thanks, F/W is 50 mi away at seasonal site and forgot while I was there. When I had it in for state inspection, I asked them to grease them for me. They told me one missing and they didn't stock them. Thanks again, Ray

Pipe threads don't use the same sizing methods as normal bolts. 1/8th is the correct size, even though it looks (and is) larger.

Dang, you would think they would call the local auto parts store, they would have it.
Years ago, I bought a small divided plastic box full of them, different sizes, angled and straight. I think they need a new service manager.

No kidding. You would think that would be a staple in their tool boxes.

I greased mine after having them installed in 2010. Yes 3 years ago! Had one zert I could not grease into, maybe it was installed wrong. Will try and jack up that one wheel to see if that makes a difference. Will I have to take it out or spin it somehow to line up holes?

You might call Dexter since they make (or sell) the wetbolt kits. They should be able to give you the size. And maybe they'll even ship out a new set of zerks for free. I have a couple of zerks no longer accepting grease and will contact Dexter soon as we alight somewhere long enough to provide a place to ship to.

It's hard for me to understand why any place that does lubes would not have extra zerks on hand.

Believe it. It was at my dealership. My state has a mandatory annual inspection, brakes, lights, signals etc. While they pull the wheels I pay them to lube. They don't stock or replace grease fittings.
