solved my peeling decal problem

Well I solved my decal problem by trading the Monty for a diesel pusher
We were sad to do it but our needs changed some since going fulltime 2 1/2 yers ago. We are still full timers but are doing more traveling than we anticipated and the motor home just seems to be a better option at this point.

I will hang around and even contribute some if you guys don't mind.

Phil, I have a seasonal site at RV Village. When I pulled in last Fri. I saw your TV up front and thought that looks familiar.(from your profile} So I drove by the pull thrus and saw the Montana with Indiana plates and figured it was you. I rode by in my golf cart several times Saturday to see if you were around. Of course you had more important things to do than hang around the CG. Congrads and glad all went well. I took my F/W home Sunday. If you ever get back to Rv Village in season, look us up in site 205.

Phil,

Why did you decide to trade your Monty? What does the MH give you that the Monty doesn't?

Glad you'll still be around! Good luck with your new rig and slightly different traveling style.

Michael,

We are working as Roving Managers for Mini U Storage and really love this job. We are required to stay at the facility when we are deployed, anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months before moving on.
The motor home just lends itself to this line of work better, in our opinion. The Monty and truck were difficult to manuever into and out of the facilities where the motor home will be easier. We also traveled with Rudee driving a chase vehicle. Now we can tow the extra vehicle and spend the travel time together.
I guess trading was more for our own convienance at this point in our lives. The Monty was and is a great 5th wheel and our decision was not an easy one.

Ray,

Sorry we missed ya! Yep we were sure busy all week with the wedding but would love to have had some time to explore on the bike. Who knows maybe we'll be back one of these days if those kids get busy and bless us with some grand young'uns.

I have a 5th wheel as it is a lot more $$ to purchase a similarly equipped MH AND you need a toad &gear for it.

A couple of months ago, we moved to a diesel pusher motorhome. One advantage is the setup.....

We were pretty efficient at setting up the 5th-wheel, but it still took about 45 minutes to get it level, off the truck, and the TV, utilities etc. setup.

Now in the motorhome everything is setup in about 10 minutes total.....and no getting down on my hands and knees, anymore.

Just wanted to say too that doing what is right for you is usually the BEST choice.
Congratulations on your new MH. May you have many, many enjoyable and trouble free miles.

Congratulations on the new purchase and enjoy. I think (IMHO of course) it is a natural progression.
Take care and travel safe.

r,
Jack

Phil and Rudee-- What did you do with your Goldwing? It's a pretty one and would hate to see you and Rudee give that up! Sending you a PM also!

Congrats with your new coach and safe travels. Everybody's situation is different and I often wondered what the advantages would be of a MH. We love the fifth wheel life style and maybe some day we will end up in a MH.

Thanks all! We got moved in and are getting things settled in the motor home. Doen't feel quite like home yet but will soon.

Rondo, we traded the Goldwing for a Harley in 2010 just never updated the photo.
The bike is in storage at a buddy's shop for the winter. Our plan is to purchase a lift by next Spring for the rear of the motor home to carry the bike on simier to this http://www.cruiserlift.com/cruiserlift.html

Congrats on your change. To me I'm happy that you are healthy enough to travel and enjoy the scenery. No matter how you get there it's still better than not getting there at all.

Enjoy your new house.

Six years ago Mary and I made the move from MH to the Montana. I get such a kick out of reading how we indiviualize our needs when long timing, full timeing, snow birding and long time traveling. RVing is just great for the blood..
