2012 - Fridgedaire Microwaves

Does anyone know why Montana stopped using the Fridgedaire Microwaves after 2012?

I noticed on mine that when I turn the exhaust fan on, it is partially blowing down the side of the microwave on the interior. After inspecting the external exhaust, I noticed the plastic vent on the exterior of the unit prevents the microwave exhaust flap from fully opening. I'm taking it back to the dealer to fix, but curious if this is a known issue and that is why they stopped using Fridgedaire.

There are 2 small plastic clips on each side of the flapper door on the plastic exhaust housing on the side of your camper. You are supposed to swing these away when set up for camping ... they just keep the door from flapping in high wind conditions or as you drive down the road.

We have the Fridgedaire Microwave in our 2013 3402. They use what they can get the cheapest.

My wife just removed a banana pudding from our Frigidare convection oven about 5 minutes ago. A masterpiece! We love ours.

Rich, For the price you paid for your new Montana I'll bet you expected better than "the cheapest they can get away with". Too bad we don't get better quality for what we pay.

Yes, I did unlatch the clips on the outside flap. What I found is that the microwaves exhaust vent doesn't open all the way because the plastic flap is restricting it from opening. That appears to be why it is blowing air back inside the unit.

On ours it's a plastic strip in the middle of the outside vent that blocks the flapper on the inside. There is a long thread on this from last spring. Many have removed the metal flapper from the back of their microwave. Keystone and the manufacturer say don't do that. It's up to you.

Did not mean to say "they use what they can get the cheapest" meant to say they use what is the most cost effective..Which means the same thing.

It is the Truth you know...Example the Chinese boom tires. paid big bucks for the G6'14's on the Big Sky.BTW The micowave oven works fine and on our 06 3400 after the third Appolo oven it worked fine for 4 years.

The truth hurts..

This Microwave, is aweful, now power and cheap, I love my 2013 Montana, I had one problem, it was so scratched, my dealership replaced it with what Montana Sent. Guess what it was still scratched and they checked the others on the Lot, and they were all scratched. For what I spent, I guess I did not expect a scratched and Dent Sale on a Microwave. Other than that, everthing else is great.
