Another question for G614 users

Getting ready to have my G614's mounted and I have a question about pressures. At the Fall Rally we had our rig weighed and found that we carry about 1000lbs more on the street side( they said it's not unusual). The question is do you use the same pressure all around or do you have higher pressure on the heavy side?

I just had mine mounted and they put 106 lbs in all tires. I also installed the TST monitoring system. I put 106 lbs in based on some of the discussions on the board.

Although you bring up a good thought, I have been told that balanced pressure in all four tires is the preferred approach.

Yes Ishler, many of us have that same weight imbalance that you describe, 900 lbs or so in our case. This question has been pondered before but to my knowledge I don't remember an expert opinion that has given us cause to travel with unbalanced tire pressures(side to side). Glad you have addressed this again, perhaps we will have a better resolution to the question this time around.

I run 95#s pressure in all of the G614s and that is more than enough based on actual rig weights.

Goodyear says if one position carries a heavier load, inflate the tire to carry that load.

I say inflate them all to allow for the heaviest load bearing tire. I just don't feel right about some tires being inflated at different pressures when they all ride that close together. Unlike the front and back of an automobile or truck.

+1 on that.

That same heavy side's center of gravity will change as it moves down the road too therefore I would think the weight would move around too. Probably good to be able to support he heaviest weight on any wheel.

95-100 on all four.

Yes, inflating to the higher load with even pressure all around is appropriate. I have 5 years experience with G614s inflating by this protocol with all showing even wear.
