Living Room Sofa Bed

We have a 2009, 3400 RL. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to keep the storage drawer under the sofa bed from coming out during travel? We have owned our fifth wheel for about a year now and I have tried numerous ways to keep the drawer closed while traveling, but nothing appears to work. Have tried placing a wedge under the drawer, rolled up towel, adjusted holding clamps, etc. Any idea would be appreciated.

The cheesy little clip that is on the sofa drawer is basically useless. I used a yellow wheel chock to keep it closed. Just lift the drawer slightly and put the chock in. Works great.

We tape ours with one long strip of wide, clear packaging tape. We run the tape from under the front of the drawer up over the top of the sofa and back as far as I can get my hand. That works for us.

I found some of the same type of black webbing and the snap buckles that were used to hold the recliners in place and made a strap that goes over the back and under the sofa. When sitting, the buckles are undone and pushed out of sight. When traveling it is simple to grab the two ends and hook together. It doesn't need to be tight

You know those black hold-down straps on the chairs and other places? Well we don't use all of them as they were. I took one long enough to go from the clip on the floor behind the couch, over the couch and attached a clip (I removed from the floor) to the underside of the drawer. When we travel, I buckle the strap and the drawer does not come out. Did not cost a dime, just a little time.

We just bought a black tie down strap about 8 feet long and wrapped it around the sofa seat. Draw it tight when traveling and undo it if we need to get in the thing. Works great!

My 2009 came with the black strap to hold the couch closed I guess it was because of the cheap baloon they call a bed.
forgot to put it around the drawer once and found it laying on the floor by the door after a wonderful Florida pot hole. Now there is not a chance of it happening again we leave it in place all the time

I use a small wheel chock. Works like a charm.

That "cheap balloon" is a vast improvement over what they had before.

Thanks for all the great solutions. I found an extra strap in the drawer but no one showed us what it was for. This is our forth RV trailer and we really like the inflatable bed which is a large improvement over the thin mattresses from the past. Our daughter and grand daughter used the inflatable bed for a few days and thought it was very comfortable.

Maybe they changed the sofa, I dunno, but mine has not been an issue. 2010 3400.

Same here. Never has come open. Then maybe it is because of the weight in it. Blankets, sheets, pillows. In fact, I find it difficult to pull out.

ditto...it takes a concentrated tug to get ours open.

Likewise, we have never had a problem with ours. It takes a serious tug to get it open. We did, however, change locations with the recliners, and put the sofa in front of the rear window. With the slides closed, there is NO WAY the drawer is going to come open.

Interesting, with some 8000 plus miles, we have been over some ultra rough roads here in the Northwest and that drawer has never moved on the air bed/sofa and our rig is an 09 3400RL.
