Washboard stopping
Has anyone besides me, had the panic attack when trying to stop when the area approaching a stop is a washboard surface?
We have one around here, I anticipate it, but the unknown one is scary.
ABS, good but they have their flaws.

Ozz,
Yes! Been there and done that! Always an adventure. So far we've been lucky and always made the stop in time. And things are a bit better with the much heavier 450 than with the 250 I had before.
Good to see you back on. Thought work had done you under.
Travel safely,
Dennis

Ha! 450, wowzer!
Thanks for the welcome back, I'm glad you are still around.
I had to squeeze my considerable girth into a window well and through a casement window in the snow today, all that just to adjust a fan control on a furnace. Missed retirement for sure on that call.

It really has to take a good mind set to push those brakes when they start bumping down the road. First reaction is to let off of them, and that doesn't help stopping.
Enjoy reading your posts. Welcome home.

OZZ, We miss your educational posts and yes those washboard roads are a thrill a minute when you don't allow extra distance from the vehicle in front of you. It gives clarity to "Panic Stop"
We're glad you're back.

Thanks Wayne and Hugh, I was reading about people having the same problems. One would think the highway department would give a very high priority to those washboard off-ramp stops. Well, we can hope.
