FREE ! FREE at last !!

Well we are now both retired. Larry retired after 37+ years of "aircrafting" at at Lockheed Martin - Ft. Worth (formerly General Dynamics) and Jena retired last year from the Texas school system. Now we are looking forward to that next phase of our life. We are looking forward with great anticipation (and expectations) to our first RV Rally ever at Tucson and then our second at Branson. We hope to meet some of you fine folks (who I already feel like I know).

Congratulations. It comes highly recommended. Do not get depressed when you only complete half of jobs. LOL.
Cheers.

Congratulations. I am less than 2 months away (end of March) after 35+ yrs at the same place and looking forward to it. I have a number of friends who have already retired from here and none have regretted it.

My wife and I agree that retirement makes working 40 years worth it! No alarms, No schedules. Only "honey do lists"! Enjoy each day at a time.

Joined the KMA club June 3, 2000. Didn't do any work for pay for 15 months, had too much work around the house to catch up on. Between daily trips to the beach for sun and fishing took many moons to get caught up. Didn't miss the job, did however miss some of my pards at work.

Biggest challenge we had was adjusting to the reduction in pay. Didn't take long. Have fun!

I just can't seem to get anthing done now that I'm retired. I started cleaning out the garage today, but the wife suggested fishing. It just seems there isn't enough time in retired life to get everything done. Most days I don't even start unil noon, and then I start twice.

Vanman, congratulations on both of your retirements. I have been semi-retired for a year now and we are living our dream. We travel when we want and where we want and also stay home when we want. The best part is that it is now our choice, not a client's or, before we had our own business, a boss. Enjoy your new journey. Hope to see you at a rally someday.

Vanman, Welcome to the "I've got nothing to do, all day to do it, and rarely get it all done" club!!! I will admit it is an adjustment, but I seem to be doing it well!!!!!

Congratulations I wish it was me. I've been thinking about retiring, I've got 31 years in with UPS. Husband has his own business and pretty much does what he wants. Power washing you have some down time when the weathers bad. Some day We'll be there.

Vanman hats off to you. I still have a couple of years to go yet. You know I used to live in White Settlement just down the road from General Dyn back in the 60's and 70's. I worked at Bell Helicopter but left there in 72 and come up Indiana way.. Those F111's use to keep me up at night running them engines on the test stands....ah those were the days.
Enjoy the well deserved time off. No clock, no schedule, no money.
