shakedown trip

Hi gang, it is I, the one with a smile on my face and DW was not even involved. LOL
Just wanted to say that I am sitting at a KOA campground in Smithfield, NC and loving it. I got to say this, so far has been the best RV experience we have had since we got rid of the last 5th. And the irony is that this rig is about 1/4 of the money of the MH sitting in my driveway waiting on Monaco to come and get it. What a breath of fresh air it is to hook up take off down the road and get to your destination, set up and grab a cold one and everything working like a charm! I don't think I am ever going back to a Class A. I enjoy rving too much to worry about what else is going to go wrong.
Anyway, 5th still tugs a little even after adjusting my brake controller down so on way back I will let it down a little more That D/A DRW CC really pulls great withe LBZ engine. I think I got somewhere in the 11 to 12mpg but will know tomorrow after fuel up. My RVIA sticker says 11240 with high-gloss but I got a feeling that the RV is heavier than that. This 5th feels and tows a lot heavier than last one and I was at 11k loaded.
I am going to get off now and enjoy it. My recliner is waiting on me! LOL. I will take some pics and maybe post them on here. Maybe start some front-cap envy. LOL She is a beauty!

ejc,
Glad you're having a great time in your Montana. I have to imagine the fuel economy is much better than the Class A. Also, Monaco is coming to get your Class A?? Sounds like there might be a story there....

Anyway, we're glad you're here!!

There is nothing better than reading a story like this. Glad to hear your new Montana has been given your stamp of approval. Hope it will continue to give you this feeling every time you use it in the future. Enjoy the coach!

Enjoy and have a cool one for me too! I have to wait another couple of months to get our 2955 out, we were only able to take it out once since we bought it late last fall.

We once had a class A diesel pusher and enjoyed it for awhile until the bills started coming in and it was falling apart. We are on our second fifver since and will never go back. Enjoy your Montana/Duramax team.

Thanks to all for taking the time to read my post, after all ya'll got me into this rig. LOL
The Monty doing great as are we. DW and daughter doing great also for once. I don't have to hear why we paid all this money and not have hot water! Wait, that was me that used to say that.
Yes there is a story behind the Monaco statement. Let's just say that they got served what they desired. LOL

Back from trip and not a darn thing went wrong! Is it luck or just a Monty normal experience?
Going back out next week end so I don't want to jinx it!
I guess I miss the traveling conveniences of a class A but loved not having to worry about things breaking down on us.

Ejc1214,
I hope your next trip out is just as awesome! I would like to think it is the normal Montana experience, at least it is for me. Seems every time I head down to the lake and open the door to the Montana, I just cant help but get that feeling of happiness all over again.

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the new Montana. The weight on that sticker does not include the high gloss or possibly even all the options you got. According to Keystone, that sticker is for your model with "standard options", which means those options most often ordered or possibly that are on all of that model. It also does not include the battery nor the propane bottles.

I hope you have many years of enjoyment from that Montana. They do tow beautifully as well as live beautifully.
