sewer hose

Sorry for the wierd question. My sales man says the 3402rl Montana we have on order does not come with a sewer hose. What do most of you use? I think I read some where that the boom will only hold 10 feet of Rhino hose. Is there a specific type of type or length of hose that will fit in the boom. Thank you for your help.

Rhino Hose, but you may find, as I and many others have, that you don't like the sewer boom and just remove it or work around it.

We do like and use the boom. I use the heavy duty hose inside the boom, and find it extends out far enough almost all the time, and I carry a second length in case needed. Cannot remember the length I installed. I like the boom because I dont have to unhook anything and store, just remove the elbow and push back into the tube. Many don't like it, others have made modifications.

For once, a salesman is telling the truth. Montanas do not come with a sewer hose. Power cord, yes; sewer hose, no. In addition you will need a hose suitable for potable water. Most dealers will give you a "starter pack" which includes a water hose, sewer hose, and perhaps some other things. All of them are inexpensive and won't last for long. But they will get you started and serve the purpose until you have a better idea on what you really want to do.

Cheap sewer hoses quickly develop pinhole leaks. If you are going to use a traditional sewer hose (vs. the sewer solution or such) get one of the heavy duty ones such as Rhino.

Agree...the cheap hoses do not hold up well. You will likely want to carry a couple of extension hoses as many camp sites will require a longer hose than you can fit into the sewer boom.

The contraption that Keystone touts as a "sewer boom" is about as handy as having the mumps. It's hard to manage, cannot be rinsed out completely, and dribbles down the road after a dump like you're some hick from Bumpkinsville. Some swear by it after adding a second shutoff valve ... others hate it and discard it. I jettisoned my boom after a couple of months. I bought a plastic door like my 2005 2980RL had and installed it and a small basket like shelf behind the lower sheet metal on the street side. I just rinse out the hose after use, feed it in the compartment, and close the lid like many other RVs. Oh ... about the hose ... what others have posted.
