Home Theatre Replacement

I bought my 2008 in October 2010 and discovered the home theatre unit will not play DVDs. The dealer will replace it,no problem, but he can,t locate a unit that has the capability of playing the bedroom speakers seperately from the living area speakers(speaker mode A, B or A&B). The unit is a no name and Keystone says they can,t get a home theatre unit that will do this anymore. Does anyone know of a unit that will do the above? Thanks

Mine quit last year and I searched for quite a while for one to operate the bedroom speakers like the original. No luck at all. Replaced it with a Panasonic that just has the conventional 5.1 speaker system.
Really did not use the bedroom speakers anyway except when playing the Ipod thru the system, so don't really miss the feature.
Do the new Montanas have the bedroom speaker option? Anyone?

The newer models do not have any bedroom speakers what so ever.

Radio Shack sells an A B switch. If you go to your local store they can explain how to hook it up.I think it cost me around 40 dollars.

Our 2009 has the speakers but our HT unit doesn't have the internal A/B switch like the Quest ones did. Oh, and they were wired up to our Jensen HT - I had to redo the connections for the living room and abandon the bedroom speakers. One of these days I may try to fish wire from the bedroom TV enclosure to the speakers.

My DVD player on the unit quit last summer but everything else worked so I bought a cheap tiny Wal-Mart DVD player wired that in. Worked out great.

Our 2010 Mountaineer has the bedroom speakers and they can be controlled seperatly with the switch on the main unit. I believe it is a Jensen? But not certain as I haven't been in the unit for a few months but sure getting anxious to get her out for the summer.

Thanks to all who took the time to respond to my problem(small as it is). I'm going to Radio Shack to see about this A B switch as this will allow me a wider choice of units. Got to go now and get ready for church. No hooky this week.

To utilize the bedroom speakers along with the surround sound speakers you need to purchase a 7.1 surround system. When I was researching to replace my system I found a few listings for a 7.1 systems but the ones in the price range I wanted to stay within were sold out and since we were hitting the road I didn't want to wait until they restocked. I even found at least one system that the 2 satellite speakers could be toggled on and off just as the original equipment did.

I just did a quick google search for 7.1 surround sound system and several came up.
