We're having a problem storing our rocker/recliner chairs
for travel in our '09 2955.
We were strapping them down front to front, with the tie downs provided. There's plenty of clearance from everything.....
but during travel the backs have worn on the side window
curtain wearing a hole in the curtain and the material on the
back of the chair.
When stored back to back for travel it seems like the chairs will rub against each other which is why we didn't do that. So......we're looking at a period of trying different methods of securing these chairs.
Anybody have any experience with this problem?

We have a table between them. we store our chairs with the backs facing each other. When we did it the other way we got some wear on the back of one chair.

We do them back to back with a towel draped over each recliner.

Yep the same as hookman. I traveled with them back to back strapped together with the table between them. In our case the table rubbed the back of the chairs and caused wear.
So now I have them back to back strapped together and carry the table sitting upside down on the couch. I took the drawer out and store it in a cabinet. You could carry the drawer between the chairs on the floor. Have had no problems with the table staying on the couch while driving. I guess you could say if I had a crash the table might go flying inside the trailer. That would probably be my least of problems.

I don't strap the chairs down in or 06 2955. We went to AK and back this way without any movment of the chairs. I place the chairs back to back with the table on the slide out side. I use a rubber band from under the table to the knob on the drawer. This keeps the drawer from opening. I got the drawer caught between the wall and the oak slider trim, when opening the slider. It made a small dent in the wall. To cover up the dent, I made an oak holder for the remote controls.

Back to back with a small pillow between the backs.

Back to back with the table in between for us too. We have had some wear on the back of the chairs but since we are not thrilled with the comfort or weight of the recliners, anything that hastens their demise is fine with me.

In our old Cedar Creek we had same problem. We put them back to back with a long piece of foam between them. We then draped an old blanket over both and tied together with strapping.

We too strap ours back to back with a pillow between them. We used to put the table between them but it was damaged by the chairs rocking on it.

Ours came with covers for the chairs and the sofa. They are not easy to put on, but they keep the chairs from rubbing together, and the tables go upside down on top of them. The chair and sofa tie down straps are long enough to hold the tables in place.

Same as KTManiac--back to back with a towel draped over the back of each recliner. So far, no problems.

I guess we're on KTmaniac's bandwagon. Back to back, with my wife's thick blanket/throw and if I need more I'll go to a sporting goods store and buy a couple more long straps and strap the backs to each other to tighten them up. So far so good.

When we tried to follow the PDI recommendation of front to front, we did find that the side window and picture windows were taking a beating.

we have @ 125000 miles on our 36rl and noticed the wear early on I dont think there is a "cure" we simply push pillows behind the chair backs and wse them a chafe pads it may be hokey, but it saves the chairs

Like others, we put the chairs back to back with the table between. Chairs don't touch each other. Haven't noticed any real wear from the table (yet) in about 2 yrs and 8,000 miles.

We had that same problems, but our fabric was cut on the arm rest of one of the recliners rubbing up against the window frame during the initial transport out to Seattle area. So now we go back to back with one of the throw pillows wedged between the arm rest and window frame on each of the recliners. I also changed to a more user friendly strap that's easier to snug down once in place for travel. I agree with Carl and Susan - hopefully these will wear out quickly once we start using them on a regular basis and we can get something lighter.

We also went back to back withthe chairss with a heavy towel in between in both our 2955 and the 2985. Also where the strap come across the arms of the rockers, we use small pieces of carpeting that come with the unit to protect the material. The small table, we turn it upside down and set it on the couch. No problem or wear. Have a Great Day

I do know a member who switched thier chairs out and put the Euro Chairs and really like them. We do the back to back with the towel also.

We threw them out and replaced with chairs that do not rock, no problems with them rubbing.

We figured out last season to go back to back with towels between. We purchased some cheap towels for padding under the straps where they cross the arms. I also changed the cheap hooks, which bent and broke early on, with S.S.Sea dog snap shackles from a boat store - lots stronger and easier to deal with. I will also add another strap to hold the backs together so there is no movement.

The little table rides fine on the floor between the dining chairs and the couch.
