New 3400rl

We picked up our new 3400rl on Thu. and camped on Fri. thru Mon.
Had a great time and love our new Monty. Learned a lot since this is our first 5th wheel. Lot of self inflicted head bumps, mostly from leaning into the basement area. Towed great and set up is much easier than our TT. This forum has been very helpful to us and we check it pretty regular. Had gotten some very good ideas and learned a lot.
We shopped a lot of trailers for a year and talked to a lot of Monty owners at different campgrounds and all those experiences help us to go with the 3400rl and I think we made the right choice!! Hope to see some of you on the road. We mostly camp in the east for now, but hope to start branching out a little more. To all that have peplyed to questions in the past from us, thank you and it did help a lot.
Happy camping from Journey On!!

From an experienced head thumper, a ball cap and the bedroon slide are close to a lethal combination when accessing the off-side basement access. I still manage to conk myself a good one every time we are out. DW usually hears the praises resounding throughout the campsite (praise him through good and bad) and always provides comfort with......... "Not again!!!!!!!"

Hey Journeyon, try this to protect the head on the sharp corners of sildes. Buy a length of RED pool spaghetti and cut a lenght about 20-24 inches, cut a 3/4 inch slot down the entire length to the center. ( It hopefully has a hole down the center ). Find the middle lenghtwise and cut a left and right 45 degree angle, leave a small amount at the botom to hold it togather, then glue it to form a 90 degree and after it dries, slide it over the corners of the bedroom slideout, it has good visual attention and doesn't leave a gash in your head, and not as painful either. Good luck.
