2017 Montana 3820 FK Toilet Seal

HI I have a question, I need to replace my toilet seal on my Monty. I have a porcelain toilet.

Is there a specific seal I should buy and where from? I am not sure if this 5th wheel requires a specific seal or are they generic?

Thanks so much for the help.

John

What type of toilet do you have is it a thedford or dometic you need to find one that works for your toilet

If you are the original owner most likely it is a thedford unless you changed it out. I changed mine out a while back mine has dometic on toilet seat. If you have all your paper work with all the manuals you should have one for your toilet.
Once you find out you can find it on Amazon

Super I am the original owner and never changed it out. I'll see if it has a name on the seat as I recall it does not.

So just for clarity there are only two types of toilets?

Thanks

I found every manual but the toilet one. How can I ID it if there is no name on it?

Thanks

Take pictures of the toilet (get a couple of angles including the water hook up) and we should be able to id it for you.

Most likely it is a Thetford which is prone to overflowing at the worst time. You might be better off to just replace it with a Dometic 320 (1st choice) or a Dometic 310.

The name plate should be on the base of the toilet below the water hookup. I used a mirror to see mine. Ordered replacement parts from Amazon based on model number of the toilet.

Any 'round' toilet set and cover you get from Home Depot or Lowe's will fit, or you can pay twice as much and get one from Dometic or who ever manufactured your toilet.

In order to get the model number on mine, I had to use my cell phone on "selfie mode" and take a picture of the back of the toilet under the lip where water hooks up. Very close to the wall and difficult to see. Impossible without a mirror or phone camera.

Aqua magic style plus

We also have a Montana fifth wheel, my toilet is a Aqua magic style 2 ,we have had 2 over flows just this season. I changed the water valve module once and will do it one more time. Next purchase will be Domenico 320 .... water valve part #is42049 . I have installed a water sensor, it the size of a pack of cigarettes $12 dollar device at home depot. A cheap purchase.

Thetfford says to not go above 60 PSI water pressure and ideally 40 to 50.
We had ours overflow once, and have not had an issue since now that I refuse to hook-up without my pressure regulator inline set at 45 PSI.

Just went through a big long mess repairing my cracked toilet flange and reinforcing the floor that got damaged when I put a standard Thetford seal back in it. The seal that came from the factory was twice as thick as anything I could find for an RV toilet.

It didn't dawn on me that there was a thickness issue until it leaked and I dug the old one out of the trash to compare them. I've had to install a silicone "stackable" gasket from Home Depot onto the flange and then the Thetford gasket on the toilet. Together they seal it off.
