New sofa

Hi all from cold and windy Reno NV,
We have a 2006 3400RL.
We today purchased a new Lazy Boy sofa,(uncomfortable recliners are out) took all the measurements with us, measured the sofa in the store. This sofa has the two recliners built in. For us to recline, we have to position the sofa between the trim on the slides.Push it back to bring the slide in.We are going to put some type of heat deflector on the register. OK, looks like it will fit OK, and will be delivered on Fri.***THEN*** We get home and we forgot about the little carpeted box for the water supply inlet...Grrrr... Do you think that if we position that end of the sofa up on that little box and brace it, it will travel OK? We do have the option of sending it back with the delivery guys if it does not fit. (less $50.00 delivery fee) Whadya think ???
Thanks, Albert & Chris

Hi Albert & Chris,

Does the new Sofa have those little 4" legs? If so can the leg in the right rear be moved a little to the left? If the frame goes right to the floor, can it be notched out a little? hard to say without seeing it. I can't see what it would hurt to brace it up on that corner. keep us posted. Picture would be nice to see.

What about putting the factory sofa in the rear where the recliners were and putting your new sofa recliner where the factory sofa is currently?? Many members have moved the recliners to the slide out and put their sofa against the rear window. Just a thought...

That's what we did Dave. The only thing we had to be concerned about was the depth of the sofa to ensure it misses the slides when they come in.

Thanks all for thr replies,
The sofa has little legs you can adjust, so we'll see! We have thought about putting the new one where the factory sofa is also. My first choice is along the back though. That carpeted box never even entered our minds when we were measuring. I'll try to post some pictures if I can figure out how to do it. LOL

We moved the sofa like MontanaSky said above, but we have to move the sofa back when we bring the slides in. It seems to be a couple inches too wide.

Anyone else have this problem?

On our 07 3400RL the sofa is in the back and there is no problem with the slides.

We take the cushions off and then it isn't too wide (deep).
Happy trails...............

On our sofa, we moved it to the back window on our 3400 and we have to move the cushions for the slides to clear. We put the cushions over by the rocker recliners to keep them from moving around. Don't know why, nothing ever seems to move back there anyway. Must be the Mori/rides.

What have all of you done about the heat register under the sofa?On ours if we put the sofa in the back it will cover the register so we leave the chairs back there.
