Selling your Montana
Its time for us to find a buyer now. What tips do you have for the best places to advertise and sell your Montana? What to avoid? We would prefer to do a private sale rather than consignment.

The for sale section on the bottom of this forum, Craigs list if you take precautions and word of mouth from your friends.

I have used RV Trader with decent results. I have used Craig's list with excellent success. However, you will need to screen the replys.
Get their real names, e mail addresses and phone numbers. The scammers will just replying by e mail.

We tried here and Craigs list. Only one inquiry. Ended up trading it away. Truck sold easily and for a good price. I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying to sell their RV themselves first though, you never know who could be looking for your exact model/year.

Good job, dummy (anyone else think almost sounds disrespectful, but it's the member's name?)! That would be a great first breakin trip, to live in South Carolina, then buy in West Virginia. I hope you got to drive to West Virginia, then tow it back.
I recall driving (not towing) through both those states and remember how many hills there were. I hope you got to stop and try out your new fiver on the way back home by making it a multiple days worth of a trip.

No, actually it was a 24 hr quick turn around due to parent health care commitments. Lost right rear tire on the way home. Manually measured tire spacing once home due to all the wear being located on the inner 3 inches of the tire. Measurements revealed the rear axle was bent. Read that the straight axles have a tendency to bend if trailer is jackknifed on pavement or bumpy terrain. Owner had allowed son to borrow the unit while it was for sale and had no idea if the son had abused the unit. Arranged for new axle to be mounted and lost the right rear tire on the trip to have the axle replaced. This time lost the tire skirt also. Tires showed no unusual wear at all upon inspection prior to purchase. So new axle and 5 new Mitchlen (sp?) e rated tires and we were good. Four or five weekend trips, trip to Florida and most recently 2700 mile trip west with no problems . This is our second fifth wheel camper and I often pull a 5th wheel 26ft dump trailer.

1. don't over price it.
2. don't over price it.
3. private sell is usually where you get your most money.
