**Fireplace Installation Completed**

I have completed the installation of the new fireplace in our 2002 3295RK. After purchasing an electric fireplace from Home Depot in an Oak cabinet; I carefully took the cabinet apart and reused some of the wood to frame in around the fireplace.
Here are some photos…

Now that's really nice. Looks great! I do have a question, only because i had a problem with mine. Did you make sure there is enough ventilation? The unit I had would keep overheating and would shut down. Dimplex sent me a new base with extra intake holes in it. I also used a 3" round drill bit and drilled 2 holes behind the tv. I also removed a drawer by the desk and drilled 2 holes into the area behind the FP and replaced the drawer. No more problems.

Thanks guys for the complements!
I did leave the cover off from in behind the fireplace which will pull from in behind all of the cabinets but I don’t trust that it will get enough ventilation so I’m going to drill some ventilation holes behind the TV.

On another note, the mantle looks like it’s a little lighter in the photograph but it isn’t a noticeable difference when just looking at it. Also, the two places that show a nail on each side near the bottom has been touched up and stained since the photograph.

Looks very good Bill. An impressive job, as others have said, I cannot tell the difference from an OEM installation.

That's a great looking job Bill. Did you have to run a new electric supply cable or was there something already close by?

I was getting ready to drill a hole in behind the TV to run an extension cord to where the TV plugs in at when I seen a hole with a grommet on the right side of the fireplace compartment. I looked and in the next compartment to it was a GFI plug awaiting my discovery. I’m not sure if it’s on a separate circuit or not but appears to me like the Monty may have even been prepped for the fireplace. I was able to use the fireplace cord on that receptacle.

Your fireplace in the Montana you got from Kerry was the first one we had ever seen like that. I’ve wanted one ever since then.

Bill that install came out looking great! If you are not busy you could make a little trip out to Washington and do mine. I also wonder if that outlet is on a circuit by itself? I do not think I have a spare slot in the breaker panel for a separate circuit.
