No heater or A/C

Thought maybe the thermostat gone bad as both the furnace and air c will not work. The mode button on the thermostat does not respond to input. Replaced thermostat and still no work. Checked all visual wires and connectors. Checked all CB and fuses. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Furnace runs off 12vdc for control, air conditioning runs off 120vac and 12vdc in control box that controls both. Assume you have your battery disconnect switch turned on so that the control circuits get 12vdc. Assume other 12vdc things like lights, fridge, exhaust fans work. Then IF all this is so, then you have an issue with the control box that is located in the ceiling behind the removable filter on the air conditioning. IF 120vac there, then 12vdc is probably not...OR something went strange and a reset of the thermostat is needed, which in turn will set things right in the control box. You should be able to find the reset procedure in the manual for the thermostat or online at the manufacturers website. Hope this helps unstick the problem. John

Do you have the dreaded remote control system yet?

What year do you have? What thermostat do you have?

If you have a CCC2 a reset may fix it. Get back to us.

I had a similar problem last year. I also replaced the thermostat with no luck. Talking with the tech at the RV supply store I found out that quite often the wiring between the thermostat and the #1 A/C won't talk to each other. That will shut everything down.

If you remove the filter grate from the living room A/C you will see a modular connector similar to a phone connector except these are not wired the same as a phone connector. The wiring is reversed in one of the connectors. There will be two of them if you have two A/C units. One of them will be coming from the thermostat. The second one will go directly to the bedroom A/C. If neither A/C works usually the cable from the thermostat is faulty. You can check this theory by making or buying a replacement cable and hooking it directly from the thermostat to the living room A/C unit. You should be able to run the Living room A/C and the Bedroom A/C.

I cleaned up my cable a bit with a stiff fine bristle brush and some WD-40. When I plugged it in it worked fine and gave me no problems the rest of the year.

I hope your problem is as simple.

The thermostat is a Duo-Therm Comfort Control. Will check out the A/C connection in the AM. Thanks

If you have the CCC2 Dometic Thermostat, it is not responding, does not show zones, it probably just needs to be reset.

Last camping trip mine was fine. Mid trip it showed dashes where the zone should be. Reset it and all is well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Cut and paste from my service manual.

To do a system reset:
• Make sure the CCC 2 thermostat is in the OFF mode.
• Simultaneously press the MODE and ZONE buttons. The LCD will display
“IniT” and all available zones.
• Release the MODE and ZONE buttons.
• Press the ON/OFF button to exit system set up.

I am having a similar problem. Going to check it out and see if it's in the AC unit. Thanks for the info. I'll let you know if it helps us too.
