C02 LPG detector

Winterized the rig, and I could smell the pink stuff, today the detector is a chirpin.
Are these things that picky? I've set them off w/pledge or the wet jet but geez..

Yes, they can be picky. Even the cat pan can set them off.

OK Thanks, so what do you do get rid of the cat or the detector?

Even the scented white tall kitchen garbage bags will set it off.I installed a toggle sw so I can turn off detector during storage!
I think if I remember correctly the life of these detectors are 5 years and should be replaced.

Had to replace ours last Fall. Original was within 1 month of the five year lifespan. Ordered replacement from Amazon.

Had to replace ours at a little over 3 years old. Just for information, these rigs do not have a carbon dioxide detector, that is the stuff we exhale. The rigs come with a carbon monoxide detector, that is CO, no 2 after it. On our rig, the propane detector is separate from the CO detector, but I've seen there are now combination ones on the market.

You are right, C0 and LPG detector. Mine is a combo. I removed it for 1/2 day and reinstalled it, it seems fine now.

Never had the Carbon Monoxide detector go off even after I replaced it some years ago. Since my rig is almost 11 years old and I've only replaced it once, I should replace it again. And since I've never replaced the propane detector I shall replace that, too. Thanks for the reminder. I shall also use a permanent marker to put the replacement date on it, so I know how long they've been in place. Hopefully, the market smell does not set it off. I guess I'll use my gel pen.

We have a 3910 and my detector is at the bottom of the island. My carbon monoxide detector has now gone off a couple times in the last two days. If I take it off the wall and let it hang down, it stops chirping. Our unit is three yrs old. Any ideas?
