Advice for Fall Rally First Timers......

I am putting this under this topic because I think people who might not be real familiar with the forum and signing up for rally things might be more apt to see it.

I speak from experience. If you are signed up to go to the Fall Rally, look at all the Fall Rally topics and sign up ASAP. Husbands, tell your wives, especially if they are going to be the ones doing the cooking for the pot lucks, etc. Wives, tell your husband, if you are looking and he is not. Both of you sign up. One of you sign up. But sign up.

Last year was our very first rally of any kind at all. We decided to go and my husband signed up at the last minute while I was oblivious that anything else was required. To top it off, I had never been on the MOC forum at all. I knew NOTHING. Somehow, probably after reminders, he got the questionnaire filled out and a photo sent. (Sorry Tom S!) THEN I finally realized I had to sign up for all these other things! Thanks to a good forum friend, Mina, for walking me through the process and getting us signed up by the skin of my teeth! (It was a miracle that we got to go to the Amish dinner!)

So just a heads up..... send me your info and photo for the rally book if you haven't and sign up for everything else! Time's a wastin'!

This happens every year. Vicki is right, read the threads on the forum and get involved. If we don't have more people volunteer to be site escorts, it's not going to happen. There are many opportunities to volunteer and it's a great way for first timers to get to know other members. None of this works if we don't have a lot of hands helping.
