Banks products for 2015 Ford Diesel
I am currently shopping for a 2015 Ford Diesel. It will be SRW, CC, 4x4. Don't know which trim level I will buy yet. I want to fully equip it for maximum towing power/efficiency. I have met many people with fifth wheels who swear by the Banks products. We currently only travel 2-4 times per year, but hope to increase that soon. I usually keep my trucks 10 years plus (current truck is 99 Ford F250 SD I bought in summer of 98 with 145K miles on it). Which of the Banks products do you feel are worth the investment? Thanks for any and all advice, even with SOB after market products.

As for diesel additive treatments, I have always used Lucas products. Used their treatment in my old 7.3 and in my new 6.7. Had several aftermarket Banks hardware. I don't feel the new motor needs any aftermarket products at this time! The. 6.7 is a great motor and highly capable right off the line. The 2015 has many upgrades over 2014. I would wait and see how you like the performance.

Its my understanding the mods will void the warranty. Go hook up to a load with a 2012 -2014 F350 and the decide if you still think you need it.

Banks products are great but what do you need it for????? you have 800 lbs of torque, SAVE YOUR MONEY as was said before the 6.7 is a BEAST I'm going to put a tuner for my 2003 Duramax because it only has 520 lbs of torque and I just need a "little" more and My 5th is heavier than yours and I haul 2 scooters

Any tuner Ford will void your warranty. I have the same truck you are wanting to buy except 2012. You will not need any more power, I promise. Any more than they have and you might pull the front end off your trailer. Haha. Banks products are good just not worth losing your warranty over.

We have a 2012 F250 6.7 Diesel and you just don't need it. The way Ford works their Tow/Haul Switch mode, they use the transmission shifting and level sensors on the truck to do the majority of the work this would do. I have been very impressed with the way it slows you down when decelerating and going down hills. Besides, it will void your warranty almost certainly.

I'd be surprised if anyone makes a tuner for a '15 anything. All 3 are impressive trucks. You will not need a tuner. Or any aftermarket anything. Leave it stock.

If you put any Banks product on an 2015 F series diesel engine, you'll be throwing your money away IMHO.

We have all the power we need with the 6.7. And absolutely, Ford will void that 5 year 100k warranty in a heartbeat.

The warranty on my 2007 Ram CTD recently expired and I purchased/installed a Superchips Flashpaq tuner. Only set it up for "tow" and it really woke the truck up. Have already noticed 2.5 mpg improvement in fuel economy going by the computer while bobtailing city/highway combined. Will check with pencil/paper in a few days.

I had a Banks kit in my 07 F-350 and love it, but after 2 months of driving my 2014 F-450 I can not imagine needing more than Ford provided. The 6.7 engine is a beast and I think you will be satisfied with the stock setup.

Thanks for all the good advice. Another question on a related thread: for those of you who have bought a Ford since they have offered it completely set up for fifth wheel towing, did you buy the whole package from Ford or did you add some things yourself after you took delivery of the truck? TIA.

drjjj, You don't need to modify your new truck. Your old 1999 is 16yrs old. A lot has changed in 16yrs. You'll be very happy towing with that new truck without doing any mods.
If Ford is offering the whole package, then get it from them. One product, one warranty company to deal with and no finger pointing.

I ordered a 2014, F250, Lariat,White and Adobe, diesel and was told a engine brake was not an option. Hauler is supposed to be in next week.

If you order the fifth-wheel prep-package it will limit your hitch choices. Ford uses a proprietary "Reese" hitch system. Some companies make adapters, the "Companion Hitch" for example. I had to have modification to continue to use my "Q24 Curt" hitch. I am sold on Curt and would not buy another Reese. The Curt Hitch company, gave us great support in modifying my 2014 F450. Curt is working on a simple modification to make the modification easier.

The "exhaust brake" is integrated with engine and transmission with the 6.7, in all Super Dutys.

My Ford fleet manager said there are add-on rails that work with the Ford hitch system and the adaptor kits for those can be found on the Reese web site. I was told those rails may be removed on demand and are not permenently bolted to the truck. Those rails would allow you to use any most fifth wheel hitchs designed to work with rails.

Another thought I had was that Banks may not have the spec's on the 2015 yet. It has not been released yet.

I used a tuner once on my 7.3 ford and it fried the computer. That was costly. I won't take that chance anymore. FYI, it was not a Banks tuner.
