Bad light switch - UPDATE

The switch for the light near the front compartment under the front overhang has gone bad. I can jumper across the terminals on the switch and the light comes on, but switch does nothing.
I seem to remember this coming up before but could not find anything with search.
Can you get replacement switches for the fixture? And if so, where?

Edit: Haven't found a switch yet. So I took the old one out, soaked it with WD40, put it back in, works like new.
WD40 and duct tape. What more do you need? Although I have also added Gorilla glue to my list of must haves.

BB, I have the same issue and finally removed the switch before I put the 5'er back in storage. Have exhausted Radio Shack, Lowe's, Home Depot, and several local hardware stores. No one has the size I need. Going to make a trip to a big electrical supply house in the next few days. They carry thousands of electronic components and can generally match these type items. Jim

I believe Camping World has the switches on their rack. RV Parts stores should have them as well

Rv surplus and salvage stores should also have them. A number of good ones are on the web.

I have replaced a couple of those switches. Found mine at different RV supply places. They are common switches. Be sure to take your old switch with you to compare size. They come in different sizes to fit different bases. Joe

Just replaced ours in Florida. Were not easy to find.

The inexpensive (about $5?) replacement I found was from Radio Shack but I'm sure not all Radio Shacks are stocked the same and this 12v replacement was not quite an exact fit. I had to shave the existing opening on the top and bottom and fill in the gap on the sides to get it to fit. But it is a noticeable improvement, with a distinctive click and has been working great ever since.

I took the original one apart and what a pile of cheap junk that was. I was kind of glad I did not find an exact replacement since I'd probably be replacing that one over time. Fortunately, the RV shops were out of them which forced me to try Radio Shack.

Do try and remove the existing one and take with you for reference. I think you should also select a 12v switch replacement (not 110-120v switch). Would someone explain the difference? I'm sure there is something to the low voltage, high amps, versus high voltage, low amps difference.

there is effectively no difference except that 12 V switches are not as good with regards to insulation re: arcs....
otherwise an amp is an amp and that is what matters most...
I have replaced several switches in the coach with std home switches (the pretty ones) with no probs...
Re: the complete light assembly sells for about $12... and there are amber lenses for it as well... I will be installing one on the curb side...
you may try soaking the switch with alcohol (no power obviously!!!) and rock it a few times then dry it with compressed air well before activating again...

Bought one from Suncoast RV in St Petersburg Fl. Believe I have seen in Camping World as well.

Had the same problem, just clean the switch with WD40, works just like new now.
