tire air pressure between trips
When it will be a couple of months between trips and the truck will not be used but maybe once every week or two is it better to leave the tires at towing pressure or lower the pressure to solo range?

You are over thinking this. There is no reason to change tire pressure.

I never change mine, except to add 2-3 psi in the spring before new travel season to make up for yearly loss.

If I am not going to be towing for a few months but using the truck I lower the air pressure to get a better more comfortable ride.

Depends on whether the rougher ride bothers you. I leave mine, but it's not that big a deal to lower them and then raise them.

I keep the pressure the same whether I'm towing or not. The ride on the 3500 is actually smoother than the 1500 I used to have.

I leave mine, mainly because it's such a PITA to get to the inside dual.

I do not change either. But I also use to tow a trailer other than the Montana occasionally. So, rather than say "I need to tow today, I better air up the tires", I just leave them alone. It is a matter of preference. Is the time spent airing/deflating tires worth the change in ride quality? On my one ton, I'm not sure my butt is sensitive enough to tell the difference anyway.
