No more Bigsky?

We took our rig to campingworld yesterday to have slidetopers installed. While we waited we went to the local Montana dealer to look at the new rigs and the salesmen told us that Keystone was going stop making the Bigsky line. Anyone have anything on this?

That's the rumor we've heard. They're being replaced by the Cambridge.

Just bought a gently used 2004 Big Sky, and that is what I was told by my dealer.

Not a rumor. We heard it straight from Keystone at the Tampa RV Show.
As the Montana is now available with all the options that the Big Sky had Keystone felt there was no need for duplication and so this is the last year for the Big Sky.

And they are not being replaced by the Cambridge. The Cambridge is a totally new line all by itself. It also is not automatic that the current Montana dealer network will become Cambridge dealers. Although some of the Montata dealers will sell the Cambridge line, in central Florida Montanas are sold by Suncoast RV and TriAm RV. The Cambridge line will be sold by LazyDays.

Don't worry, the Big Sky won't be an orphan. Big Sky was essentially an option for the Montana, so all the parts and all will be available. At the Tampa RV Show a highly placed Montana factory rep told us the Montana has evolved to include or have as an option everything the Big Sky had, other than maybe the graphics and name. The Mountaineer has also evolved to be what the Montana was just a couple of years ago.

He also said the Cambridge is a totally separate line for Keystone and will not be handled as part of the Montana division. Hope that helps.

That was also the scoop at the rally last fall. At that time, they weren't sure whether the new model would replace the Big Sky or be something different. From the talk and pictures, the Cambridge is a big leap up, not just in features, but price. Time will tell whether or not the price is worth it or whether they have to bring it back down a little to hit their sales projections.

Yes, no more Big Sky's and we're bummed. We really love ours and won't be able to afford the Cambridge even though it will suit our winter needs much better.

Even though many of the upgrades of the Big Sky are in the Montana, there are a few that are missing and I assume are now in the Cambridge that I would miss. At least they included my favorite feature which is the solid surface counter tops.

Patty,
Yes we do love the counter tops and sink covers. We have had no problem with them. We don't have them in the bathroom and I notice you do. I went through all your pictures and since we've been coveting the Montana so long, I know what they were like before 05 and I can see all the differences that were Big Sky that are now Montana. The dealer tried to talk us into an 04 he had on the lot but I didn't like the color and held out for the 05. Sure glad I did!
