Our Big Sky with the front a/c measures 13'6" when hooked to the truck. Had it measured at the Nat'l rally.

I think the height went up around 2014 to 13'4" or 6" for almost all units. I had a 2006 2980 that was only 12'9" I think at the front A/C unit.

What's a good way to get an accurate measurement?
I'm going to hook mine up in the street and use a 6 foot level on top of the AC unit, to get a measurement to the ground.

What is the height of Interstate bridges? 16'??
unrelated, anyone tell me how to post a picture up here? I did a water filter install in a different thread, want to post a picture of the finished product. thanks

If your ever at a Smart Weigh event you'll get measured with a special stick. On your own, I've used two people and a level. Drop a line attached to the end of the level and have the person on the ground mark the spot and then measure. Our rig is 13 feet, 4inches with a full sized front AC unit. Most marked bridges in our trip from central Florida to New Mexico and then on to Kansas were 14'6" or higher although we passed entrances to the OK turnpike twice with yellow warning signs on the entrances that they had someplace that was only 13'6". I've used that road before and don't remember that so there must be construction of some type going on.

Legal height in most states is 13'6" some states are higher. This will give you a list state by state I see Colorado is only 13'.

Unless someone has the exact same Montana, being pulled with the exact same truck, equipped with the exact same tires all around, plus the same hitch, then there will probably never be two Montana fivers running down the road that are the exact same height.

To me it was always like checking your own parachute before jumping. I want to check the height myself so I know 100% how high I am going down the road.

Kozzy, using a 6' level off your highest point (probably front air) while hooked up on a fairly level surface is your best method. I also added an inch or so just in case my rig was bouncing a little when going under a low overpass. To my line of thinking the height measurement is the most important thing to know before blasting down the highway.

The specs for the 05 days 12'9 at top of AC. But it doesn't specify front or rear. Your never going to hit anything on the highway just back roads. I drive a truck and have come up on 12'6 bridges before.

I think Colorado is higher than 13 - somewhere there was some sort of disclaimer that said that height was only on certain roads.
