dirty water

Another challenge. Sigh....
In the campground where I am setup fulltime I am connected to the waterline. I have been getting rusty colored water coming out of my bathroom sink cold water tap and also into the toilet bowl. Very rarely does it flow yellow from the kitchen sink faucet. I purchased a water filter which installs between the well head and my intake. I figured the source of the rusty yellow water was high iron from the well head. However, after installing the filter which was supposed to remove iron as well as other impurities, I am still getting rusty looking water from my bathroom and toilet cold water, but not from the kitchen ... as of yet.

Has anyone else had this experience or does anyone have any idea what might be causing the discoloration of the water? No one else is in the campground has been getting colored water.

No one else getting the discoloration is an attention getter. I would let everything run for 10-15 minutes to flush out the rig waterlines, and also since not a problem with anyone else, run a hose to an adjacent site and see if that makes a difference.

Good trouble shooting idea. Thanks will give it a try. I've also collected a jar of water to have it analyzed just in case. Until I get it figured out I'm drinking bottled water ... and beer.

We don't know if this would be related to the topic, but we started using those blue in line filters from Wal-Mart. We are full timers so we change them about every four months. Prior to use our hot water anodes deteriorated rapidly. It may be coincidence but we just inspected the anode that we installed last October. It hardly shows any pitting at all. Perhaps these filters could aid with the bad water problem.
