I use mine sparingly, but not because of the diesel, mostly because of the mpg. At about 15 empty, it gets costly to take it everywhere. I have a Corolla that I use for daily commuting.

While I don't drive much myself, our F350 is what I use for almost everything. About the warming up part; read any car's manual and it'll say not to take really short trips & always get the engine up to operating temps. That whole thing is true about any internal combustion driven vehicle. (I also leave the truck plugged in when the outdoor temps don't get above 50.)

I only have 86,000 mile on my '05 and it's my "baby" (also in mint condition). The personal problem I have is that since I've had this perception about not driving diesel vehicles on a daily basis, I have no social life. My DW is always out with the gas vehicle and I'm stuck here at home reading blogs. My life is gonna change from now on!
Seriously though...thanks for the input! You all bring up great points.

My 07 Dodge 3500 just turned 70,000. We have had the 2011 Kia Forte since Oct 2011 it has 24,000. Of course I work in the Parks we live in so not much commute into Coos Bay once a week, less than 400 population here in Winchester Bay. This spring maybe some side trips to other parts of the Coast.
