Sailer,

You are supposed to be able to remove the back, I elected to take it apart completely, put it back together and then we sold it on Craigslist. As for getting the new one in, we ordered a Lazy Boy double recliner and when it gets delivered, they will need to place it in the 5th wheel.

We had the L shaped one in the 3650 and replaced it with a futon. I took it apart it was in 6 pcs IIRCC and still heavy even though it was not built all that well. but they will come apart to get them out.

We took the old out and took the back off. Bought new leather 2 seat (love seat/couch) with recliners and was able to bring it in through the door with no problem....Heavy so you need 2 people. Backed my truck up to the door, stood the love seat on end, turned the couch as it came through the door and it was in.

Good to see this post. We just ordered two Lazy Boy Wall-Away recliners to replace the sofa. At our home base in Lakewood, NM., we have a small building (12 X 16) called a "casita" which is like an extra living area where we will put the sofa. I was concerned about how they would get the sofa out and the recliners in but this post eases my mind. For all the years we have been part of this forum we continue to learn and are amazed at the vast knowledge of forum members. Thanks.
