Replacing pigtail

Hi all,

Noticed lots of cracks on left side propane bottle pigtail. Acme nut is light green. Closest RV service place only had dark green in stock. Manager said they replace all light green with the dark green when needed and never had a problem. Could not find anything directly pertinent to this on internet other then different flow rates.

Anyone switched to dark green? Any reasons not too? Do not want to go boom in the night!

Thanks,
Art

I have never had to change a pigtail hose, so I looked into it. I can not find any info regarding any difference in them. They are different lengths/colors. Some are rubber some are braided stainless. I believe you can use any one you desire.

I've always used whatever came from Amazon.

Color should not matter for you. All the color differentiates is max flow. The light green connectors are rated for Rated for 200,000 Btu per hour. The black are rated for 70,000-100,000 Btu per hour. The dark green are rated for 450,000-500,000 Btu per hour.
Now that doesn’t mean that’s how much will flow just that it can if needed. So light green or dark green you should be good.

Thanks all, I will just replace existing pigtail with the dark green one. If you happen to hear a Big Bang coming from Arizona, well, raise your glasses and toast to what a great couple we were.
