Are we addicted?
We purchased our 2003 Mountaineer 315RLS last year but could not use until our new truck arrived - too late for use last season. So far we have had a 3 day shakedown trip and a 3000 mile trip from Ontario to South Carolina through Virginia and West Virginia. Last week we took our 2 youngest grandchildren (3 and 2) plus our Son and Daughter in law for 3 nights at Niagara Falls. Let's just say that Jellystone Park at Niagara does not warrant the ratings! Anyway, we confirmed that the only problem with the 315RLS is the bedroom area is quite cramped. Colin is 6'4" and has several bruises to prove the area limits.
We noticed our dealer had a 335RLBS returned into stock (buyer dropped out at last minute and purchased Big Sky instead leaving the dealer with a new unused but secondhand unit). After 30 minutes of negotiation with the Dealer we now own the unit. Pick up on Tuesday - second shakedown cruise in 2 months! Is this a record?
I think we did OK. The dealer made a few $$$, we lost about $Cdn2000 on our original unit and we end up with a bedroom slide plus an extra 2 foot length. We added a few goodies to the deal so there were a few $$ for the dealer but even then after looking at our unit he sweetened the deal by another $900. Even exchanged our current sofa bed with the J-bed from the new unit - we much prefer to have the sofa bed. No charge for about 3 hours work.
Deal took half and hour to consumate, the idea took a day to gel and we exchange in 3 days time. Are we addicted or just plain crazy? Whatever it is it feels like fun. I even enjoyed spending more money to have a new mattress made with "Profile Foam" - definitely have to use the unit more to recoup the value in that little purchase! Not cheap but my poor old back does like to be comfortable - now if my poor old wallet could only match!
OK another addiction to add to the list! Have to change our profile signature now.
