SCALE SHOCK

When we stopped today for fuel at a truck stop I thought I'd have the rig & TV weighed. What a shock!!! We've gained 700 pounds since we started fulltiming 16 months ago. We even got rid of a BUNCH of stuff we accumulated over the summer. The front truck axle and monty are OK, but the rear truck axel is over the limit, so I know where We have to loose the weight. It's time for a crash diet.

I know that feeling very well! We had a 2880RL and I remember it was heavy. If you don't mind telling, what did the Montana and the entire rig come in at? Did you get the pinweight? The 2880RL has a surprisingly high pinweight, as does our 3295RK.

Steve,
No, I didn't get the pin weight, but I do know it's heavy. The GVWR for the truck is 20,000, we weighed in at 20,700. Since the truck weighs about 7,400, the Monty comes in at 13,300. The Monty axels combined were 9540. I've never had them weighed separatly.
Ellie is a book/magazine pack rat, so I'm playing this for all it's worth to get her to get rid of some of them. Other things I will do is replace my two 2" X 8" X 6' leveling boards with the plastic blocks, get rid of an adjustable truck hitch I've never used, and assorted unused tools, jacks, etc. After 16 months we've learned what we do and do not need.
