2980RL Pin Box

Good Evening,

I would like to know the part number of the pin box that is used on the 2006 year 2980RL Monty. There are 2 labels on the front top of the pin box. I believe the label on the street side of the pin box usually has the part number I am looking for. The part number should be something like LIPP----.

Thanks for the help.

Thats the only part of the label I can read on our 2006 2980RL.....LIPP..
The rest has faded away.

Sorry

Don,

Montana made some changes in the pin box area for 2006. That's the reason I need to know what is being used on the 2006 model. Thanks for the offer, but no need.

Rick

Good Evening Al and Dolly!

I'm assuming your trailer is a 2006 model. If so, this is great news! I was hoping the pin box would be a 1716.

I am in the process of deciding which "improved" pin box I will put on my new 3400RL (which has the LIPP1116) and have decided on the Glide-Ride. They have 2 models that will fit the Montana, the LIPP1116 replacement, and the 1716 replacement (which is an extended length pin box).

I am wanting the 1716 since it is 5 1/4" longer and since the 2980 Monty has it, I think it will be difficult for Montana to give me any problems if I use its Glide Ride replacement on mine - especially since the 2980 has a higher hitch pin weight than the 3400RL.

Thanks again for the info!

Rick.

Yes mine is a 2006 and it's not even a week old. We just picked it up last Thursday and the dealer has had it since about the 20th of Dec. We also have the Quest 3000 DVD and the Duo therm comfort controll. Dolly loves her new trailer and can't wait to go to Texas at the end of Feb. Happy Trails Al & Dolly
