Replaced dinette light with LED
The thing we (DrRx and I) hated about our Montana 3790RD was the dinette light over the table. It could only be turned on by the switch on the light which my wife at 5'3 could not reach, especially if the light had been on and was hot. It was frustrating. So, I had a little time today and had bought the light quite a while ago and the switch over 6 months ago, so I finally put the light in. I bought it from Etrailer and yes, it's an LED. The wall switch I have is the same as the rest in the rig as I ordered it from the dealer. I took down the bottom of the center decorative piece and then pried out the trim around the slide. Then eased down the panel on top of the slide to enable me to get a two wire harness through to the light mounting area. once the wires were ran, I then took a roto-zip type tool(Ryobi) and cut a hole for the switch next to the window after making sure it would clear the aluminum frame of the slide. Once in and wires ran, this is what she looks like now. Vast improvement.

Nice clean work. Ergonomics is obviously something that the designers never heard of. I took the easy way out and just replaced the push button switch with a chain pull that my 5’1” wife could reach.

Thanks. We actually talked about that, but couldn't keep the shade from moving and/or falling at times. So I opted to do a little work.

Great job!
I'm curious … How difficult was it to fish the switch wire down the slide wall? That looks like the toughest part of the install. … edit … I see where you removed the trim board and, I assume, pried the wall board out enough to fish wire thru.
It's not an urgent thing for us, but I like what you've done. Definitely a big improvement over the factory install. I will add this to the "want" list. If DW sees it, it will become a "need".

If you look closely, you will see a channel that is open down the wall between the trim and the slide. I just taped the wires in there to hold it in place until I could get the trim back into place.

Nice job. Pull switch sounds like easier fix. First thing I did was replace bulbs with LEDs. Better lighting and no more burnt fingers turning it on or off!!!
