Emptying Hot Water tank...is this right?

To empty the hot water tank in a Montana to winterize, do you need to take out the nut/bolt on the hot water tank from the outside where the anode rod is? Then do you by pass the hot water tank and add the pink antifreeze?

The owner's manual doesn't say much if anything at all...just to winterize.

Maybe we could all get together and make some kind of manual huh? LOL
