You have heard of being snowed in.....
...But have you ever heard of being mudded in? In the fall I park our camper at the back of our property. There isn't a drive so I wait till the ground is dry or frozen. Then I bring it out before the ground thaws.
This year we got lots of snow which kept me from moving it. Then it warmed up and melted the snow leaving nothing but wet soaked grass and mud.
Now I can't move my 13,000lb Monty to the front and it's camping season! 
I am going to wait till the end of the month and put down some OSB plywood to drive it out on. I will have to "leap frog" them because I have a long way to go. It's always something!

My truck is a 2wd so I'll be putting plywood under it's tires too. I just hope it doesn't split 1/2" OSB I already have. Guess I'll just double it over if it splits!

we got caught in a mid-winter thaw last year and Good Sam Road service came to the rescue.
They winched truck and trailer out of the mud.
I was told, their service covers up to 3 hours for winching - it took about 20 minutes.
Good Sam ERS came to the rescue once again.

We tried that one time - when Chuck stepped on the accelerator, the boards shot out from under the wheels - luckily, I was not standing in their path or it could have been a disaster - please be very careful!

Man O Man how timely. We are in a park in KY heading toward the rally in Kerrville TX. It rained hard last night and there are several places in the park going out of here that I am concerned about. Mud, grass and soft spots. There is nothing that is going to keep me in this place with the rally only a few days away.

Jolu, Something I have been thinking about trying, when I pull my camper out of the muck, is to put plastic wrap like you cover bowls with on the bottom front of the camper. That way clean up of all the thrown mud will be easier. Maybe you will want to try it to see if it works?

You could also buy the plastic sheets they use on the cars of NASCAR. If you watch at a pitstop, one of the crew pulls a sheet off for a clean windshield for the driver. Maybe I'll check into that and put them on the lower part of the Monte. Heck it's worth a try!

It's out at last! The OSB plywood trick worked well. The camper cut the first few pieces like a pizza cutter due to the old ruts that were formed when I put it away last fall.
Took us close to an hour leap frogging the wood. I had just enough OSB to cover front to back. I would take sheet out behind the camper wheels and drag it to the front of the truck. ;D

I am mudded out! I brought my 3400 to the dealere in Feb. to have some work done on it since he gave me a break on labor. We have not had much snow in the part of NYS we are in so it was easy to get out with the frozen ground. Of course it snowed while the 5er was at the dealer I had to wait to bring it home. Wheels almost sunk to the axles as soon as the tires left the pavement! Luckily my truck was still on the road and I could pull right out. Its sitting at the dealer as we speak. Ground is drying up fast so soon I will get it back.

It's just not a good idea to have the tires on anything except some kind of solid drive. Especially at over 13,000lbs.

I agree! Short of paving any suggestions for making a more solid surface to back to my parking spot? I would like to make something simular to a two track area to back up on and not over take my lawn with too much area. Also it would give me something to aim for when backing to hit my parking space just right.
