New RVer and Montana Owner

Greetings All,
I am brand new to the word of RVing. It was just 3 short months ago on a whim I said to my wife "hey maybe we should think about getting a trailer we can tow behind my truck(F150). It could be the only vacation option we have next year"

My long journey of discovery led me to realize we would never be happy with anything that we could town with the 150 so flash forward and now we own a F350 Diesel and a 2021 Montana 3120RL

We still have yet to actually connect the two after owning both for a few weeks. I had just got my hitch put in Friday and then went down a long rabbit hole of having the wrong capture plate. Long story short, I will finally have all the parts in this week. Our first trip is scheduled for the day after Christmas and we are very excited. We have rented a few times, but can't wait to get out on our own rig.

Oh I will. I have learned a lot in 3 months but know that I know next to nothing at this point

Put it all together and put it through its paces (everything) in the drive or somewhere to familiarize yourself with it before taking off on that Christmas trip.

We also just purchased a 2020 Montana 3121RL and so far love it. So much more room and comforts than our old Heartland Greystone 29MK. However we towed that thing all over the wester US and it was great in its day! However, the King bed, the convection oven, the 2 TV's the fireplace the residential refrigerator, the whisper A/C in the bedroom and all the other comforts are GREAT!! So much more storage in the basement was also fantastic. I loaded everything in and looked vacant inside. Wow, I can actually now find things without moving everything! Anyhow, enjoy your new rig and remember to very safe out there!!

Congrats from North Texas! Hope your first trip is local so in case you find any issues you are close to home. You want to document any issues you find during your “break in” trips. Take pictures. Read through the forum for issues like trailer tires, TPMS systems and the like. LOTS to learn but have fun learning about camping/traveling in your new 5er. Safe travels!!
