2011 3400 RL awning problem

The last time we had the main awning out it would not retract had to help it back up with a broom! now it is dead , I suspect the motor is bad , has anyone had the motor out ? I suspect it needs to be tied back and the proper arm taken off, but what arm is it?

I have an 11 unit also. Mine has a dometic 9100 awning. The motor is in the roller tube on the right side, nearest the hitch. More complicated then just remove and replace. There are u-tube video's of how to do it along with written instructions from dometic.
