Slow Shower Drain

I recently used the shower in my 2015 3610RL for the first time. The draining water is extremely slow at best. It drains like a sponge or sock is somewhere in the drain line. The bathroom and kitchen sinks drain fine. I made sure all drain valves are open and I can see no obstructions looking into the drain. Before I start disassembling things, I figured I'd try the forum first. Maybe it's something I failed to do. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

They don't have a regular trap, just a one way valve.

The shower drain should have a white rubber "liner" in it that you can see when looking into it. This is an assembly that replaces a normal p-trap and down inside about five inches the rubber is flattened so that tank smells can't enter the rv. Mine sometimes sticks itself together and then water will get ankle deep before water pressure opens it...then it will work normal for a long time before doing it again. Usually if we are out of the unit for a week or two. Sounds like yours has mostly stuck itself together. Try inserting a smooth chopstick down the drain and wiggle it a bit. By the way, the assembly on mine isn't very good at keeping tank smell out. So on my list of things to do this summer is to install a regular p-trap. Good luck with yours... john

Ours was getting extremely slow to drain, and looking into it, appeared to be all scummed up with hair and such. Obtained a small diameter bottle brush that would fit past the drain fitting and the drain looks like new and drains like new too. Another bit of regular maintenance to add to the list.

Here is what it looks like.

This one is installed upside down but can be removed without tools for cleaning. It does collect hair and soap so it needs cleaning Periodically.

Ours is located in the basement and is easy to reach.

We had that problem until we installed one of those stainless sink strainers http://www.amazon.com/Camco-42273-As...+sink+strainer Now we have to clean the stainer after every other shower, but no more drain problems.
